Arrest Made in Casino Burglary

The Clarkston Police Department has made an arrest in connection to last month's burglary at Lancer Lanes and Casino that resulted in an undisclosed amount of cash being taken.

 

33-year-old James Nollette of Lewiston was taken into custody this afternoon at the casino while he was in the middle of a poker game, according to Detective Sgt. Richard Muszynski. "Further arrests are expected in the case," he adds.

Farmer in serious condition following tractor accident

A Juliaetta farmer is in serious condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after he was run over by a tractor on Tuesday afternoon.

Juliaetta Fire/EMS, Lewiston Paramedics and Latah County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a field just off of Meadow Lane. Timothy Harbison, 41, had fallen off a tractor and was run over by it. Harbison was airlifted by LifeFlight to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Lewiston.

Once stabilized, Harbison was transported for further treatment to Harborview. As of Thursday morning he was listed as being in serious condition in the Intensive Care Unit.

The Dutch Bros. location at 143 Thain Rd. will donate all proceeds on Tuesday, June 18 to the Snake River Relay for Life.  There will be a live radio remote during the day, so customers can enjoy music while picking up their coffee.

"We've always been impressed by the outpouring of support from community members, and we're happy to donate to a great cause," said owner Matt and Michelle Cameron.

The Snake River Relay for Life will take place June 21-22 at Clarkston High School.  As of Thursday morning, the relay already had over 250 registered participants who have raised over $15,000.

17-year-old admits to up to 100 car prowls and thefts

A 17-year-old Clarkston teen is being charged as an adult in connection with what he told police could be up to 100 vehicle prowls and thefts in the city and in Asotin County.

 

Clarkston Police Chief Joel Hastings says the department recently developed suspect leads on an individual whom they believed to be responsible for committing the crimes. Yesterday, as officers actively attempted to locate the suspect, they were led to a residence in the 1200 block of Highland Avenue.

Wildfire Near Rogersberg Grows to 2,400 Acres

A wildfire burning south of Asotin has now scorched just over 2,400 acres of grass and brush, according to Blue Mountain Fire District #1 Chief Chad Sanford. The Mail Trail fire started about one and a half miles west of Rogersburg Saturday afternoon.

Koshare Eagle with the Department of Natural Resources-Southeast Region says the Washington State Commissioner of Public Lands and Director of the state Department of Fish and Wildlife reached an agreement today to allow DNR to provide fire protection. She says that will include Type 2 hand crews and helicopter attacks to help get the fire under control.

LEWISTON, ID - Two Lewiston women were transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center following a collision at 4th and Bryden at 1:13 this afternoon.

Lewiston Police Captain Tom Greene says 23-year-old Ashley Ellis was attempting to make a left turn onto Bryden in a 2006 Suzuki when she was struck by a 2010 Ford Escape being driven westbound by 72-year-old Glenda Anderson. Ellis' car ended up on its top. Greene says Ellis could face a failure to yield charge.
