The city of Pomeroy is receiving its second award for Outstanding Wastewater Treatment Plant at the upcoming Pomeroy City Council meeting, Tuesday, August 9th. The Washington Department of Ecology will be in attendance to present the award to Mayor Alan Gould at 7 p.m. for another year of Pomeroy operating its treatment plant in a way that protects the water quality of Pataha Creek and the Snake River.
Pomeroy treatment plant processes 340,000 gallons of wastewater per day with discharge to Pataha Creek. City superintendent Ken Landkammer, operator Glenn Davis and their staff are being honored for their exceptional job managing the discharge. This is the second time the treatment plant has received the award. The city also won the award in 1999.
