Shoshone County investigating inmate death |

The Shoshone County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of an inmate this week.

Corrections deputies were notified Thursday of an inmate who was choking. They called for help from other employees and from District 1 Fire and Kellogg Ambulance. Despite efforts, they were not able to dislodge the item from the inmate's throat.

The inmate, who investigators will not identify until family can be notified, was taken to Shoshone Medical Center, where he died.

An autopsy will be performed and the case is under investigation.
