Change of plea hearings have been scheduled in Lewiston's Second District Court for a man and woman charged with multiple felonies in connection with forged checks.

According to court records, 35-year-old Chanito John Wayne Torrez was arraigned this afternoon and will change his plea on July 18th, while 33-year-old Rachael Bigsby was arraigned yesterday and is scheduled for a change of plea hearing on July 24th. 

Lewiston Police say the pair allegedly stole checks from the man's father and forged several thousands of dollars worth around the Lewis-Cark Valley. The felony charges associated with two Lewiston Police Department cases each. 

Torrez: six counts of theft by receiving, possessing or disposing of stolen property, four counts of forgery, one count of conspiracy to commit grand theft, and two counts of grand theft;
Bigsby: five counts of theft by receiving, possessing or disposing of stolen property, two counts of forgery, one count of conspiracy to commit grand theft, and two counts of grand theft
