Asotin man arrested, charged with 6 counts of child rape | Crime
A 66-year-old man was taken into custody at the Asotin County Sheriff's Office Monday afternoon and charged with six counts of 1st-degree Rape of a Child for allegedly inappropriately touching a six-year-old girl.
According to a Probable Cause Affidavit, Robert Allen King allegedly touched the girl several times since early January. The allegations came to light following a domestic dispute on July 4th, the court documents state, and during a forensic interview the girl allegedly told investigators that King would touch her "private area" when he helped her take a bath.
"(Victim) said she did not ever see Robert's private parts," the affidavit says. While being interviewed by investigators, King denied touching the girl or doing anything to purposely make her feel uncomfortable, although he did admit to helping her take baths and she sat on his lap while at the computer.
King is being held in the Asotin County Jail on a $200,000 bond and will be arraigned on July 21st in Asotin County Superior Court.
