Man Admits Dumping Grandmother's Body in River | Crime
A 27-year old man says he didn't kill his grandmother earlier this year, but he did dump her body in the Clearwater River.
The Lewiston-Tribune says Justin Hietala pleaded guilty Wednesday to the charge of failing to report a death. He says his grandmother, 72-year old Lavina Hietala, died of a heart attack on April 1st. He says he was distraught and heavily medicated, so he wrapped her body in a tarp and dumped it in the river. She had been reported missing and her body was found in the river weeks later.
A judge is waiting until a pre-sentence investigation is complete before deciding if he'll accept the plea agreement.
