Lewiston pit bull allegedly attacked and killed small dog | Crime
A pit bull was taken into custody this morning and placed in quarantine after it allegedly attacked and killed a small dog, and bit the small dog's owner in Lewiston.
Lewiston Police Captain Tom Greene says this is not the first time that 39-year-old Renee Carter has had a run-in with the dog.
Last October, she and another person were chased by the same pit bull. They were able to escape unharmed, and the owners - Ryan and Michelle Jones - were cited for allowing their dog to run at large.
Greene says Carter was transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in a private vehicle following this morning's incident, which happened in the 1900 block of 14th Avenue at about 10:52. Carter suffered injuries to her forearm.
Meanwhile, Greene says pit bull will be deemed a "dangerous dog" and banned from the city limits.
