No charges filed against Clarkston man for allegedly assaulting EMT driver
Crime, News

The Whitman County Prosecutor’s Office has declined to press charges against a 41-year-old Clarkston man who allegedly attacked the driver and medic of a Clarkston ambulance in June.

On June 17, Jason Hundrup was being transported to Eastern State Hospital and bit the driver following a struggle north of Colfax along Highway 195. Hundrup allegedly bit the ambulance driver’s hand, broke his glasses and scratched his face.

He escaped the ambulance and was later found by law enforcement, hiding under a bridge.

Hundrup was booked into Whitman County Jail for 3rd Degree Assault and two counts of Malicious Mischief.

The charges were put on hold by Whitman County Sheriff’s Office on June 19 while Hundrup sought treatment at Eastern State Hospital for his mental condition. He stayed there for about two weeks before being released.
