Lewiston Police warn about telephone scam
Crime, News, People

The Lewiston Police Department has a new warning regarding a telephone credit card scam.

They say they've gotten several phone calls this week about the scam.

The scammer tells the person on the phone that they have “WON” a large amount of money or a valuable prize and that they need to buy a prepaid credit card to pay shipping and fees for the prizes that they've won.

The Lewiston Police Department warns that this is a scam and that you should never have to buy a prepaid credit card to claim a prize.

Please do not give any personal information, including credit card or bank information, out to someone you do not know.
