Three Year Investigation Leads to Drug Bust | Crime
A three year investigation by the Idaho State Police resulted in the confiscation of over $200,000 in drugs and profits and the arrest of one man in the LC Valley.
Francisco Munguia Diaz, 38, was arrested and it took fingerprints to determine his real name. He has gone by the aliases Glen Cadenas, Chico and Theo. Diaz is now charged with possession and distribution of a controlled substance.
“Although this has been a long investigation and a lot of man hours, the arrest and seizure came together at the end with the help of multiple law enforcement agencies, “ said ISP Detective Bryce Scrimsher.
The U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency and Bureau of Indian Affairs worked with ISP on the investigation. The Lewiston Police Department, Nez PPerce Tribal Police and the Quad City Drug Task Force assisted with the search warrants and arrest.
Police confiscated two pounds of methamphetamine, one pound of cocaine, six pounds of marijuana, and 189 ecstasy pills. The street value totaled over $100,000. Police also seized six vehicles and $186,000 in drug sale proceeds.
Currently, the case is being prosecuted in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Washington.
