Two Arrests Made in Grangeville Armed Robbery

Two people were arrested Friday morning following an armed robbery at a Grangeville gas station on Thursday night.

A man entered the Deano's Exxon on Main Street Thursday night demanding money while wielding a handgun. Surveillance video caught the suspect leave the building and get into a truck driven by a female. Between the video and witness accounts, law enforcement was able to identify and detain the two suspects.

“Thanks to the quick response from my officer and the Idaho County Sheriff's Deputy on duty, we were able to get the information out to surrounding area law enforcement agencies,” said Grangeville Police Chief Morgan Dew. “This information allowed the Idaho County Sheriff's Office and the Kamiah Marshal's Office to locate and arrest both suspects.”

Chief Dew also added that the Exxon clerk handled the situation exactly how he should when he handed the demanded cash to the suspect. The Chief went on to say that “no amount of money is worth putting yourself in danger of being injured or killed.”
