Outdoors Reporter Defends Dead Salmon | Environment
‘Tis the season for dead fish, especially Chinook during their fall run. They kind of look like wet newspapers.
Eric Barker, Lewiston Tribune, writes: "As their bodies decay the bottom of the food chain is fed and the rivers become more productive. Hopefully that will mean healthier salmon and steelhead runs as well as bigger and more resident fish. So here's to dead fish and the cycle of life."
