Tincan uses information technology and interactive media for education and community development. It is a non-profit organization that makes online information available to the people in the area. Workshops are available for no-cost. Please find a list of several workshops below.
July 19 - Blogging Basics (5:30-6:30) - Learn about the different free options one has to start their own blog. In this workshop you will learn why you would want to blog, how to personalize your blog and how to open your blog to the public.
July 21 - Cinematography for Adults (5:00-7:00) - Take film production to the next level by gaining instruction in equipment and cinematography best practices from a professional filmmaker.
July 25 - Android Operating System (5:30-6:30) - Have an Android Smart Phone? Learn how to use it with ease.
July 26 - Facebook Etiquette (5:30-7:00) - Learn basic etiquette on the social networking site. In this workshop you will learn about the different security features Facebook has to offer, the different policies many businesses have on Facebook use and explore how Facebook can help you in your search for employment.
July 27 - Editing Home Videos (5:00-7:00) - Make use of those home videos that you have lying around. Learn how to create a family film using state of the art video editing software and your home videos. Requirements: You must have video on miniDv, CD, thumb drive or hard drive to participate in this workshop. Video on CD, thumb drive or hard drive must be in a compatible format such as a .mov, avi or .wmv.
July 28 - Growing Your Business with Twitter (5:30-7:00) - Want to know what all the hype is about? Learn the basics of Twitter.
