Weippe bus driver charged with lewd conduct | News
A 77-year-old Weippe man has been charged with three counts of felony lewd conduct with a child under 16 years of age in connection with alleged sexual relationships with underage boys in the 1990s. Grant Miles, who has been suspended from his job as an activities bus driver for Timberline Schools, is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on September 9th in Clearwater County Magistrate Court.
Miles was arraigned and posted a $30,000 bond on Friday. He has driven activities bus for approximately 13 or 14 years, according to Ben Jenkins, Transportation Supervisor for Orofino Joint School District #171. Miles was suspended last week, he says.
According to a Probable Cause Affidavit, Miles allegedly fondled two boys between 1994 and 1996, although one alleged victim claims that the abuse took place until 2000. "This happened almost every day for six years," the court document says.
