No serious injuries in Riggins school bus crash | News
There were no serious injuries Thursday afternoon when a Salmon River Joint School District #243 bus rolled on Seven Devils Road southwest of Riggins.
According to the Idaho State Police, there were seven children on the bus at the time. One child was transported to the hospital with a scalp laceration, while the others received bumps and bruises, and the driver was uninjured, a witness states.
ISP says the collision happened at 5:20 p.m. when 66-year-old Larry Barnard of Riggins was distracted by a child. When he looked back, the 1998 International school bus had drifted to the left, then corrected to the right. The right tires went off the road onto the soft embankment and the bus continued eastbound until it rolled onto its right side. Barnard was cited for inattentive driving.
