Nez Perce County Sheriff's Office crackdown on distracted drivers | News
The Nez Perce County Sheriff's Office is teaming up with the Idaho Transportation Department starting Friday to look for aggressive and distracted drivers.
Over the past three years, more than 1,800 people have been seriously injured in crashes caused aggressive or distracted drivers.
Distracted driving caused by the use of cell phone of any other electronic device to make a phone call, text message or e-mail, looking for music or finding directions is a growing concern and a contributing factor to one-third of all fatal or serious injury crashes.
The Sheriff's office will have extra patrols on the roadways looking for these types of behaviors. They would like to remind all traveling public to slow down and obey traffic laws.
