Top Five: Patient runs amok and code-99 dispatch audio | News
Title (Max 100 Characters)
Last week was quite the week for breaking news and crime. Here's a rundown of last week's top five stories decided by your interaction, from the two deputy shootings to an escaped patient running amok through a farm field and hiding under a bridge near Colfax.
There was quite the variety of stories from folks in our newsroom. Our morning associate producer Alyssa Crawford attached a GoPro to her head during the Dirty Dash last weekend making for a messy video of people screaming through the mud.
We've been studying the sources of traffic for our patient transport story and it looks like the AP picked it up for the wires and news outlets in the region re-posted it sourcing KXLY, which is neat in our books. The Oregeonian gave it a new headline "Ambulance patient runs amok in Washington, bites driver," while the Seattle Times simply wrote: "Psychiatric patient runs amok". So much amoking.
Also on our top five, one of our stories features the audio from Tuesday's #sposhooting, the public domain dispatch heard on police scanners.
1. Patient bites ambulance driver en route to Eastern State Hospital
2. Code-99 screams over scanner traffic by injured deputies
3. Spokane gets messy at Dirty Dash
