Man charged by bull in critical condition

A 75-year-old Asotin man remains in critical condition at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center after he was struck by a charging bull while on his ATV late last night.

According to Asotin County Sheriff's Captain Dan Hally, the incident happened in the 3000 block of Asotin Creek Road at 11:58 p.m. Harold Thompson was LifeFlighted from the scene to the Lewiston hospital. His wife, Corrine, was also involved in the incident. Hally says she sustained minor injuries but was not transported.

LEWISTON, ID - There were no injuries and no charges filed last night after an elderly dementia patient took a car from a care facility and led police on a short slow-speed pursuit along Snake River Avenue. According to the Lewiston Police Department, the 90-year-old man took the car of an employee at the Lewis-Clark Care Center in the 1600 block of 10th Avenue at about 9:15 p.m.

LEWISTON, ID - Former NASCAR driver and racing analyst Kyle Petty will lead more than 175 motorcycle riders on a cross-country motorcycle trek to benefit Victory Junction beginning in Coeur d'Alene at 8:15 a.m. on April 27th. NFL great Hershel Walker is among the riders taking part in the 19th Anniversary Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America. The ride will include a pit stop in Lewiston at the Nez Perce Express at 10:15 a.m. and at the Chevron station in New Meadows at 2:30 p.m.

Pomeroy Man Injured in Farm Equipment Collision

POMEROY, WA - A 74-year-old Pomeroy man was injured in a collision between a car and a piece of farm equipment yesterday afternoon. According to the Washington State Patrol, Gary Smith was driving a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire westbound on US 12 near milepost 410 (23 miles west of Clarkston) at 2:39 p.m. when he attempted to pass a 2000 International semi pulling the farm equipment as it was pulling into a wide spot off the eastbound side of the highway.

Family of teen who died in ATV crash honored

The family of a Lewiston teen who died in September in an ATV accident was honored this week with an honorary posthumous special recognition from the Boy Scouts of America.

The son of Bret and Eddieka Christensen, 13-year-old Hunter Christensen was nearing completion of his goal of becoming an Eagle Scout before his 14th birthday when he crashed his ATV at the St. Anthony Sand Dunes on September 5th. This week, his family received the Spirit of the Eagle Award by the National Court of Honor.
